March Curiosity: On the road to Mount Sharp! - Generation NT

It’s almost six months that the Curiosity probe present on Mars, remained at approximately the same point, making a few samples of air, sand, rock and multiplying updates and other audits of instruments .

MountSharp Despite little movement, the probe already completed a part of its objective by establishing that Mars had been shed water in liquid form, and therefore may be offered favorable conditions for the development of a form of life.

But although the current area where Curiosity is prolific worthy of scientific interest elements (the probe has recently established that river had flowed on Mars), its goal leads today to make a path more 8 km.

In Focus: Mount Sharp, a Martian mountain which rises to 5500 meters and could be much more than what has been discovered so far

.

MountSharpMap “It’s like watching the layers of the Grand Canyon. They preserve and record how things went before and how it has changed over time “reports Joy Crisp.

Currently, it is impossible to know precisely when the probe will reach its goal. NASA has planned various routes depending on the topography and crossing capabilities of the probe, but various cases could occur to make some additional tests during the trip.

Mount Sharp should allow Curiosity analyze various rock layers that reveal the history of Mars. The opportunity is unique access to some rocks, and therefore certain times of the planet.

the coming days, Curiosity could be the source of new breakthroughs.
