Freebox subscribers have encountered a major outage last Tuesday, October 22, 2013, preventing any connections. This problem was caused by an update of firmware, which has brought new features, but which required a reboot of the Freebox. A new authentication was then requested and Free servers are mounted in power at that time until saturation servers causing the blackout.
Freefailure appeared yesterday from 21 hours and ended in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. Free has not communicated officially to the reasons for this failure. The outage began with a stop television services. Subscribers have re-launched their connection, and then authentication was no longer possible, so the Internet connection has been lost. Freenews advising subscribers indicated especially not to reboot. According to rumors, this failure may be linked to a network overload due to an update of the Freebox Player. Customers have expressed their problems from 21 hours. Some still had access to the Internet, any other service provider. The customer service was saturated with complaints related to the problem.
