Tara, a ship between science and legend - Progress

If all boats have their history, that Tara is the legend. Designed to withstand the polar cold, the schooner aluminum hull built for Jean-Louis Etienne in 1989.

After belonged to New Zealand browser Peter Blake, who has died in tragic circumstances, it was bought in 2003 by Etienne Bourgeois and angels b. who created the Tara Expeditions project to act in favor of the environment and research.

first mission in the Arctic (2007-2008) during which the boat is left grip the ice, Tara is left for a tour of the world’s oceans between 2009 and 2012 to meet the plankton in all oceans of the world. The Tara Oceans expedition Polar Circle extends this mission.
