The French government discourages Yahoo to offer Dailymotion - Expansion

Bercy pressures seem to have because of the desire to offer Yahoo Dailymotion. The U.S. portal has waived acquire a majority stake in the online video site because of the opposition of the French government, anxious not to let foreign flag one of the few successes of the French internet, according to background information release.

American group had begun talks to acquire 75% of Dailymotion, owned by France Telecom. This transaction, valued at approximately $ 300 million (228 million euros), was the largest acquisition by the new CEO of Yahoo Marissa Mayer, arrived 10 months ago from Google with a mission to recover the Internet group in decline.

The French government, anxious not to see Dailymotion leave the country, and France Telecom have requested that the transaction covers only 50% of the company, but Yahoo refused understands the Wall Street Journal Tuesday.
