Nokia unveiled Tuesday morning a touchscreen tablet equipped with Windows 8.1 RT, 2520 Lumia. The CEO of the former number one mobile, Stephen Elop, was very proud to draw his latest gadget on the scene of the Nokia World conference. While Apple to unveil new iPad on Tuesday, Nokia makes a killing in entering this market with a 4G-enabled product and wi-fi. The Finn has focused on the 6.7 megapixel camera, with Carl Zeiss optics (a first in this market), but also on the readability outdoors: the 10.1-inch screen has a strong light and its reflections are limited.

The group has developed a video editing application, Nokia Video Director, to allow users to make and share clips. A game was developed in partnership with DreamWorks, Dragons Adventure . The availability and price of the tablet in France are not yet known. Nokia also unveiled at the same conference new models of smartphones Lumia, 1520 and 1320, as well as new entry-level devices, the Asha 500, 502 and 503.

The tablet Nokia comes the day of the official launch of two new tablets from Microsoft, the Surface 2 (Windows 8.1 RT) and Surface Pro 2 (Windows 8.1). Asked Monday by The Point.fr, director of the consumer division of Microsoft France, Marc Jalabert, said Nokia would be the product of “complementary” to the Microsoft range. Yet it is clear that 2520 Lumia is a direct competitor of the Surface 2. If the acquisition is finalized, it is likely that the band is … simplified.
