Windows Phone approaching 10% market share in Europe - ZDNet

figures: According to figures from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech covering the summer quarter, Windows Phone 9.2% total market share of the top 5 European countries, for the first time growth two figures in France and Britain.

Windows Phone continues to plow on underdogs against Android and iOS. Kantar Worldpanel ComTech has given the figures for the five major European markets (Germany, Spain, France, Britain and Italy) for the period from June to August.

Microsoft OS it now has 9.2% market share including a nice double-digit growth in France (10.8% market share) and the UK (12% market share). Germany, with 8.8% market share of Windows Phone even close to 1% of iOS. It is only in Italy that the OS has been a slight decrease (9.5% market share, -0.8% yoy).

In analyzing these figures, Kantar said that most of the growth of Windows Phone Nokia has gone through input terminals and mid-range Lumia 520 and 620 affecting two key categories 16-24 and 35-49 years. (Eureka Press)
