(AOF) – On the occasion of the Frankfurt show, Valeo presented its latest innovations to make the smart car for safer driving, more intuitive and more energy efficient. With nearly 1,100 patents in 2014 (+ 40% compared to 2013) and expenditure on research and development growing at over 1.1 billion euros, including Valeo unveiled the system “360 3D View” intuitive and ergonomic technology designed to allow more precise maneuvers that gives the driver a bird’s eye view of the environment of the vehicle on the dashboard screen. Another innovation, dubbed “Sightstream”, is a new camera system that replaces traditional rearview mirrors. This technology allows an increased perception of driving conditions for greater security and reducing vehicle fuel consumption through improved aerodynamics. Furthermore, this innovation opens new vehicle design opportunities.
